Phalanx

Phalanx is a hybrid fighter/tank who utilizes a gymnastic-based combat style emphasizing agility and power. Formerly the guard captain of the Tyracian imperial palace, Phalanx rose to her position through sheer dedication and superior training from her early youth.

Background

Phalanx was born the youngest daughter of a large family. Bright and determined, Phalanx out-performed other athletes and nobles children to obtain a position within the palace guard. With relentless determination, Phalanx won the competition to be proclaimed the Avatar of Defense - and bestowed with a powerful set of armor appropriate to her station.

Phalanx served as a ceremonial warden that served as the Thyrene Empire’s royal guard. As the representative of her homeland, she filled the post of an Avatar of Defense. Along with the other six guards, who each represented the prime virtue of their member nation, Phalanx served loyally though scorned by the other guards for her middle-class background. After the great disaster, Phalanx is awakened by Echelon in a laboratory outside the capital city. Phalanx’s bright and relentless personality cloak a deep sense of shame for being unable to protect the city or her family.
